Access to Leisure ProjectAccess To Leisure aims to provide Children and Young People aged 0 –17yrs with a significant disability the opportunity to: Access leisure activities of their choice; Develop their independence; Socialise with peers; Get the most from their leisure time. A key element of the project is providing volunteer support to a Child or Young Person, providing practical assistance as well as encouragement and friendship in undertaking leisure activities. We also aim to work with service providers, supporting them in making their activities inclusive. Referrals are made via the LCC Outreach Team. The project is aims to work with 15 Young People a year primarily through volunteer support. We are looking at how we encourage adults and young people with a disability to take part in all areas of our project. We want to create clear links and information throughout the project that will help people to access work, volunteering and training opportunities. We also want to ensure that people are aware of the support we can give them to enable them to participate in our project. Download an Access to Leisure leaflet here . If you are interested in volunteering with this project please visit our ‘Volunteer With Us' page and complete an application form. |
