
Young Carers
Signposts Young Carers Project offers support to young people under 18 who may be helping to look after someone at home. This may be someone in their family who is ill or/and disabled, has mental health, drug or alcohol problems. The young person may be:
Helping to look after them
Listening and cheering someone up
Helping to look after brothers and sisters
Helping with the cleaning, cooking, shopping, washing etc.
The project runs across the Lancaster District, and offers group sessions
as well as one to one support and family support. We offer:
Time and space to talk
Someone to listen
Opportunities to meet with young people in the same situation
Days out and holidays
Advice and information
Help to cope with the hassles at home and at school
