A venue for information on the West Ends issues, and a chance to speak to community groups and agencies based in the area
Aims and Objectives for Community Shop
Need
- To work with individuals who have settled within the West End providing resources for accessing community information and groups.
- To enable the Community groups and Agencies to be more accessible and involved with the local community.
Objectives
- To enable community groups to be more accessible through having information available and by holding surgeries.
- To make available information on community issues and activities.
- To encourage and inform the local community by development of projects, West End Workshops and community enterprise.
- To provide a place which Community Wardens can use.
Method
- Draw out previous consultation processes to show the need for a Community Shop.
- Set up a Community Development working group to co-ordinate various projects including the Community Shop.
- Premises in the local shopping area.
- Recruit and train volunteers to staff the premises.
- Contact local groups to be involved with the project.
